The Power of Healthcare Teams Docs Who Care started in 1995 when physician, Gary Morsch, MD, learned of one of the biggest challenges facing rural hospitals – keeping their local healthcare providers from burnout. Many of the providers expressed a desire to be free of covering the ED on the weekends. Dr. Morsch understood the importance rural hospitals have on their communities. His desire was to recruit reliable, high-quality healthcare Physicians, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners willing to help create a work-life balance for the local medical staff, and for themselves.
